City Lake Park Receives CPN Star Award

Samet is proud to announce that the High Point City Lake Park pool renovation project has been honored with the Star Award by the Construction Professionals of North Carolina (CPN). This recognition underscores the dedication and excellence of our project team and highlights the transformative impact of this community-centered project.

About the Star Award

The Star Award is a symbol of achievement in the design and construction industry, recognizing outstanding projects completed by CPN member firms. According to CPN:

“The Star Award honors project excellence among CPN member firms. Each year the winners are selected by an objective group of judges, on the merits and challenges of the project, owner satisfaction, and participation by CPN members.”

CPN captured the heart of this project in a video featuring Samet’s own Maurice McNeal, who shared insights into the history and significance of the renovations.

Breathing New Life into a Community Space

This project involved the ambitious renovation and redesign of an 80+ year-old pool and a 1960s-era gymnasium. The City of High Point set clear goals for this undertaking: to modernize the pool area, create a multipurpose event center, and enhance the facilities to better serve the community.

The scope of work included:

Pool

A complete update of the existing pool area, making it a vibrant and inviting space for community use.

Gym

Transformation of the old gymnasium into a two-story event center and office space, offering versatility for a wide range of events.

Parking

Addition of new parking facilities to improve accessibility for guests.

Locker Room Conversion

Conversion of outdated locker rooms into family-friendly restrooms, showers, and concession areas for pool visitors.

Event Stage

Installation of an outdoor event stage, creating a picturesque setting for community gatherings and entertainment.

This recognition by CPN reflects the hard work, problem-solving, and commitment that went into delivering a space that the High Point community can enjoy for years to come. Congratulations to our project team and everyone involved in this award-winning effort!
