We are pleased to announce that Ryan Wathen will be joining Samet as Executive Vice President leading operations for Charlotte, NC. Ryan will also oversee Operations for Charleston, and Savannah with Carson Knizevski and Hunter Burns remaining in their current roles under Ryan’s leadership.
Ryan brings a wealth of experience and a diverse professional background to our team. His career began in the United States Air Force, where he served from January 1992 to November 1997. Following his military service, Ryan joined Rodgers in November 1997, where he steadily advanced from a field laborer to senior leadership roles over his nearly 27-year tenure. Notably, Ryan was instrumental in expanding Rodgers’ presence in South Carolina, having opened offices in Columbia and Charleston and significantly growing their market footprint in these areas.
Throughout his career, Ryan has been involved in several key projects, including:
- Novant Presbyterian Women’s and Children’s Vertical Expansion, Charlotte, NC
- New Hanover Regional Medical Center Master Plan Implementation, Wilmington, NC
- Vidant Health Cancer Center and Bed Tower Expansion
- Roper St. Francis Berkeley Campus Master Plan Expansion (currently under construction)
- Ryan has also been an active board member with ABC Carolinas and ABC National from 2007 to 2020.
With 26 years of experience in the construction industry, Ryan brings a deep passion for developing and growing people, identifying individual strengths, and working collaboratively with detail-oriented team members. His visionary approach and extensive experience, particularly in the healthcare market, make him an invaluable addition to Samet.
