Design-BuildGuilford County Schools’ Professional and Community Education Center (PCEC) is a new 70,624 SF, three-story building dedicated to student and family learning, professional development, and teacher training.
Located in Gateway Research Park, the facility features classrooms for teacher training, open tutoring, and learning areas, a maker space for students, and a large lecture hall for professional development. Additionally, GCS staff and related not-for-profit organizations will have dedicated spaces within the center. Designed with sustainability in mind, the building will utilize advanced materials and aim for energy efficiency and renewable energy generation through solar power. Guilford County Schools hopes for LEED Gold certification for PCEC to align with their ongoing operational cost sustainability goals.
