Design-BuildThis project involved the upfit of an existing 100,483 SF building. Designed with tilt-up concrete wall panels and ample windows for natural lighting, the facility has achieved LEED Silver Certification. It is projected to use 25% less energy and save 83,000 gallons of water annually compared to similar-sized buildings in Alamance County.
The project diverted over 352 tons of construction waste from landfills through recycling, with 40% of materials sourced regionally and 30% of materials and furnishings previously recycled. Points for certification were earned through various sustainable practices, including energy-efficient mechanical and lighting systems, ergonomic design, green housekeeping, water use reduction with landscaping and automatic restrooms, improved indoor air quality, and the use of low-emitting materials such as paints, coatings, and carpet systems.
