As a leader in genetic medicines, Astellas was in search of a general contractor that could deliver a large-scale gene-therapy manufacturing facility in North Carolina. Built in partnership with Sanford County, this 135,000 SF state-of-the-art building joins the vibrant biopharmaceutical research and manufacturing community established in Lee County.

Designed to adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP), the Sanford facility is equipped to offer manufacturing capabilities at both clinical and commercial scales for Astellas’ portfolio of AAV therapies.
