From Student to Speaker — Brian Hall Returns to UNCG
About
It’s graduation season, and this spring, Brian Hall, Samet’s President of Real Estate, delivered the 2026 commencement address to the doctoral and master’s graduates of UNC Greensboro – his hometown university, where he once sat in the same seats earning his MBA from the Bryan School of Business.
It was a full-circle moment, and the wisdom he shared with graduates reflects the same principles that guide his work here at Samet every day.
— Lead with Wisdom and Humility. Brian was candid that his MBA didn’t give him all the answers; it gave him the right questions. Every project, every contractor, every community partner has taught him something new. “Your education doesn’t end today,” he told graduates. “It just changes venues.”
— Serve Others with Excellence. Shaped by years as an NCAA soccer athlete, Brian reminded graduates that a team is only as strong as its weakest link, and that the most meaningful work happens when we help others succeed, even when there’s nothing in it for us immediately. He also took a moment to thank his wife, Amy, who held things together at home while he balanced work and graduate school. “She sacrificed more for me than I’ll probably ever know.”
— Build on a Foundation That Lasts. Brian’s charge: build your career on integrity, character, and purpose — not titles. “Success isn’t about climbing a ladder. It’s about building a life and career on principles that will stand firm when the storms come.”
Congratulations, Brian, on this well-deserved recognition and opportunity.
