Design-BuildSamet transformed a 6,000 SF third-floor office suite in Savannah’s historic Standard Oil Building, blending modern functionality with the structure’s original 1924 character. The team demolished existing finishes down to the original structural components, creating a complete interior revitalization that exposed authentic 1924 structural steel, roof slat decking, purlins, and brick.
The project installed a new HVAC system and added a mechanical mezzanine to support updated building systems while maximizing usable floor space. Samet reconfigured the restrooms and breakroom to enhance functionality and integrated the building’s preserved industrial elements into the contemporary design. Building-wide enhancements extended across levels 1 and 2, including updated main lobby finishes, a new roof installation, refreshed elevator interiors, and exterior façade improvements that respect the building’s historic identity.
