  • Samet and SRS, Inc. teamed with Winston-Salem State University, UNC School of the Arts, and Forsyth Tech Community College to create a shared research, design and classroom facility on a brownfield site on the campus of Winston-Salem State University. This modern center allows for collaborative research across an interdisciplinary spectrum, holding space for research, technology, art and science studies.

  • While constructing these contemporary buildings, Samet provided an on-site BIM kiosk where all tradespeople had access to models and drawings. The main facility is a structural steel frame with steel deck, and concrete floors from formed concrete construction. The adjacent “cube” was constructed from twenty 56′ precast panels, requiring DOT permits for transport.

AIA Award for Architectural Excellence, AIA Winston-Salem Chapter

This was a very complex project with a tight schedule, complex site issues and a surrounding environment that could not be disrupted by the construction process. The Samet team did an incredible job constructing this building with these parameters.
