After over 50 years of civic service, Fire Station 56 noticed they were outgrowing their facility.

This fire station replacement was one of two multi-million-dollar makeovers for Guildford County’s fire department. The main challenge in demolishing this fire station was determining where to temporarily relocate the fire safety team so they could continue operations seamlessly during construction.

Fire Station 56 was slated to move twelve firefighters into a 900 SF adjacent house on the property but realized the space would be less than accommodating. Samet proposed a temporary house for more comfort and efficiency. This approach proved fiscally responsible, saved dollars for the city, and now serves as fire investigation housing.

The new fire station is an entirely updated space for this team with proper garage bay heights, brand-new amenities, and living quarters to support the heroes that keep our communities safe.
